Prof. Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek

VICE PRESIDENT

Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek holds the title of professor of social sciences and is an expert in strategic management and research and development policy. She combines many years of experience working at academic institutions (University of Warsaw, Polish Academy of Sciences, Military University of Technology) with practical experience in shaping science policy at the national and European levels and in managing a technology institute (Łukasiewicz – Warsaw Institute of Technology).

Prof. J. Itrich-Drabarek represents the Main Council of Higher Education on the Monitoring Committee for the European Funds for Digital Development (FERC) program. She is a member of the Management Committee of the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). She served as the University of Warsaw Rector’s representative for informatization and organization and as associate dean for development at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Informatics at the University of Warsaw.

Since June 2024, she has served as Director of Łukasiewicz WIT, where she initiated and implemented a comprehensive transformation of research and management processes aimed at commercializing research results, developing cooperation with industry, and fostering technological innovation in line with the Network’s priorities and the EU’s Horizon Europe strategy. She also initiated numerous collaborations between the Institute and companies in the defense sector.

She is the founder of the Kompas AI project, which aims to forecast technological trends and the needs of industry and science using artificial intelligence tools. She has overseen a number of investment projects funded by, among others, the National Development Plan (KPO), FENG, the National Center for Research and Development (NCBiR), and Horizon Europe.

His professional work includes, among other things, developing forecasting models for public administration and industry, designing a comprehensive model for commercializing research results, and leading research and consulting projects in the areas of e-government and the digitization of public services.

She is a graduate of the University of Warsaw and the author of 120 publications in Polish and English, including works published by Routledge, Palgrave, and Elgar. She has supervised 7 doctoral candidates and 520 master’s students. She is a member of the Council for Scientific Excellence for the first and second terms (since 2019), elected by the academic community.
