On 17 October, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Łukasiewicz Research Network and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.

During the New Mobility Congress 2025 in Katowice, the Łukasiewicz Research Network and local governments signed a letter of intent to begin work on the New Mobility Center (CNM). It will be a platform supporting the development of innovative transport technologies and the construction of a new mobility ecosystem for the whole of Poland, with particular emphasis on Silesia.

The Łukasiewicz Center and Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering have accepted a letter of intent from the Military Central Construction and Technology Office S.A. (WCBKT), a company belonging to the Polish Armaments Group (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, PGZ). The agreement paves the way for joint research and development work in the areas of national security and energy transformation. The management of Łukasiewicz and PGZ signed the document during the 33rd International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce.

On September 3, the Łukasiewicz Research Network and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (Polish Armaments Group, PGZ) signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at intensifying cooperation in research and development and the transfer of modern technologies to the Polish defense industry. The ceremony took place during the 33rd International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce (MSPO).

Łukasiewicz Research Network has launched two strategic research and development projects aimed at strengthening Poland's sovereignty in ammunition production. The projects involve the development of domestic technologies for the production of nitrocellulose and nitroguanidine, essential components of multi-base powders and rocket fuels, which form the basis of modern ammunition.

In Katowice, the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (Łukasiewicz – AI) is now officially operating. The opening event, held on July 3, attracted significant attention from public figures, including Minister of Climate Paulina Hennig-Kloska and Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs Michał Gramatyka.

Strategic investments in the domestic defense industry can support the development of technology, innovation, and the economy in Poland. Experts from academia, the military, and the defense industry discussed the opportunities and risks associated with this topic along the presentation of the report “Increased National Defense Spending – An Opportunity to Improve the Innovation of the Polish Economy?” 

At the 12th Polish Chemistry Congress in Kraków, Łukasiewicz Research Network signed a partnership agreement with the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry (PIPC). The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between science and industry and jointly build an innovative, sustainable, and competitive chemical sector in Poland.

Łukasiewicz Research Network is developing innovative solutions to support the Deaf community. The latest initiative involves a book that combines printed content with multimedia and sign language translation, making literature more accessible to people with hearing impairments

The future of the defense sector in Poland and the role of science and industry in strengthening national security were the main topics of the Defence24 Day conference. Hubert Cichocki, CEO of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, emphasized the importance of cooperation between research institutions and the defense industry.
