On Friday, February 20, we presented Lukasiewicz – PIAP robots during the testing of unmanned weapon systems and elements of the SAN anti-drone system. The event was attended by Prof. Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek, Vice President of the Lukasiewicz Center for Research, alongside Prime Minister Donald Tusk and commanders of the Polish Armed Forces.

At the training ground of the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Zielonka, guests could see in action, among others, the PIAP HUNTeR, a ground-based unmanned land platform, which we are developing jointly with the PGZ Group and WB Group, among others. A smaller PIAP IBIS also took part in the event.

Among those present in Zielonka were Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Science and Higher Education Marcin Kulasek and Minister of State Assets Wojciech Balczun.   Our work was also watched by representatives of the Polish Armed Forces command and PGZ CEO Adam Leszkiewicz.

The speeches echoed the theme of combining the competencies of industry, the military and science, as well as the time pressures of modernization. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that “today we present with great satisfaction what we are designing, building and financing in our country.” The head of government pointed to the growing interest in Polish equipment. In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz pointed to the pace of change and the need to respond quickly.

– Solutions developed at our institutes, including mobile robotics and unmanned platforms from Łukasiewicz – PIAP, are today an important part of the national security ecosystem. Tests at the training ground in Zielonka showed how technologies developed at Polish R&D centers can be integrated into complex defense systems and prepared for deployment for the Polish Armed Forces,” says Vice President Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek.
