HAASTA i NPI – polski dron bojowy

Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation will present its latest product – the HAASTA unmanned system, designed and created in response to the real needs of the battlefield, during the XXXI International Defense Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce. The structure is developed in cooperation with Eurotech and was based on the experience of combat operations from the last few years.

During this year’s fair, the Institute will focus on the offer of unmanned technologies for the army. This offer was based on our experience in the implementation of numerous research and development projects, pilot programs, tests and optimization of existing aviation structures.

HAASTA is an innovative UAV system with a hybrid drive, used (depending on the version), among others, for observation, cargo transport, photogrammetry, distant reconnaissance, diversion or combat against other drones.

The system was designed for the needs of penetration through anti-aircraft defense, operation in the depths of the enemy group and the performance of reconnaissance or air-diversion tasks. The system can also be used to confuse air defense means, also operating in a swarm.

The aircraft presented at MSPO is a fighter version, which is a response to the challenges of the modern battlefield.

In civil applications, HAASTA can be used to monitor long infrastructure sections.

HAASTA is also a technology demonstrator for modern solutions designed at Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, which can also be seen at the Institute’s stand. These include: acoustically optimized off-satellite navigation systems, thermoplastic enclosures reflecting electromagnetic radiation, or control systems based on artificial intelligence.

Other solutions for the unmanned aerial vehicle industry will include a composite main rotor for unmanned aerial vehicles (VTOL), a real-time object detection system (RTSENSE) and the concept of a rocket accelerator for unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Institute will also traditionally present solutions for the aviation industry: a demonstrator of the main helicopter rotor blade technology, series of radio altimeters, automatic flight stabilization system and fuel meter.

Two of the proposals were submitted to the Defender Award – awarded for products distinguished by the originality and innovation of technical and technological thought: the HAASTA unmanned system, which is a modern solution for the army, and the innovative electric initiator of the NPI detonation process.

The uniqueness of the igniter lies in the lack of charge initiating the explosive. The developed mechanism of action of NPI allowed to eliminate harmful compounds such as lead azide and lead trinitroresorcinate from its fire chain. The electric igniter is a great solution for rescue services and troops. The solution was developed in cooperation with the Military Institute of Armament Technology.

All the products and technologies will be on display at the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation stand No. D-57 in Hall D on 5-8 September 2023 during the XXXI International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce.
