In the capital of the Republic of Korea, Seoul, a showroom for mobile robots Łukasiewicz – Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements will be established (Łukasiewicz – Przemysłowy Instytut Automatyki i Pomiarów). The Institute has been consistently strengthening its presence in Asian markets.

At the end of July 2023, Łukasiewicz – PIAP (Łukasiewicz – Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements) and Defense Korea which is a subsidiary of SONID (a South Korean company listed on the KOSDAQ stock exchange), announced the foundation of a state-of-the-art mobile robotics showroom in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea. This important step is a confirmation of the Institute’s constant commitment to strengthening its presence and expanding its activities in Asian markets. An official opening is planned for September, during which the robotic technology Łukasiewicz – PIAP will be presented. Invitations will be sent to government representatives responsible for public security and to the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in South Korea.

The distributor plans to use this location as a platform for arms trade between South Korea and Poland. It will be not only an arena for the presentation of Łukasiewicz – PIAP products, but also as a facility exhibiting Polish exceptional scientific and technological capabilities and a place for concluding development cooperation agreements with the largest defense companies in South Korea.

The robot showroom in Seoul has already caught the attention of diplomatic representatives of other countries. On 31 July, before the official opening, Sami Alabdullah, a defense attaché of the Saudi Embassy in South Korea, saw the design of the PIAP IBIS robot equipped with EOD accessories such as a recoilless pyrotechnic ejector, an explosives detector and a mobile X-ray. In addition, representatives of Japanese companies, including employees of the Japanese Embassy in South Korea, visited the showroom in Seoul in mid-August.

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, plans to visit South Korea with a working visit in the near future. On this occasion, we would like to invite the President to pay a visit to our representation, which would be a strong support for the Łukasiewicz Research Network institute, operating successfully on the Korean market.

Łukasiewicz – PIAP, successfully operating on the Korean market for almost a decade, has established itself as a trusted supplier of advanced robotic solutions. Pyrotechnic works of the Institute were implemented by the armed forces and the Police Special Operations Unit of the Republic of Korea, demonstrating its reliability and effectiveness in various critical operations. In particular, PIAP GRYF (PIAP Griffin) and PIAP FENIX robots have become the main choice of Korean customers in bomb threat reconnaissance and neutralization operations.

South Korea shows great interest and demand for EOD robots and Łukasiewicz – PIAP solutions fully meet the standards of the National Police and Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), which makes them the most suitable candidates also for offset trading. In addition, thanks to successful actions in the field of supplying robots and operations on the Korean market achieved over many years, Łukasiewicz – PIAP has gained the reputation of a trusted supplier of advanced robotic solutions. It is also worth noting that the PIAP GRYF (PIAP Griffin) and PIAP FENIX (PIAP Fenix) robots were selected by the Police Special Operations Unit after undergoing rigorous equipment tests that demonstrated their exceptional efficiency and durability.
