
Renata Żyłła
Acting Director
She has been with the Institute since 2000. She began her career as a specialist and worked her way up the career ladder from Assistant Professor, Head of the Department of Biomedical and Environmental Technologies, Director of the Centre for Circular Economy, to Director of the Łódź Institute of Technology.
Education
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Process Engineering and Environmental Protection at the Łódź University of Technology. She was awarded a doctorate in engineering in 2000. In 2024, the Silesian University of Technology conferred on her the degree of habilitated doctor in the field of engineering sciences in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining and power engineering. A series of thematically related scientific articles presenting her postdoctoral achievements were devoted to the study of phenomena occurring in the deep oxidation and membrane filtration processes of selected chemical compounds (including pharmaceuticals) and model textile wastewater.
Passion
Caring for flowers in the garden and women’s handiwork (embroidering tapestries, sewing, crocheting, etc.). She is passionate about the culture of Asia, particularly South Korea and China.
