The several-day visit by Polish researchers and scientists to Vietnam has come to an end. Now we must wait for the results of the meetings and discussions, the development of partnerships, as well as joint research and scientific activities between Warsaw and Hanoi.
The delegation, which included Dr. Hubert Cichocki, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, initially accompanied Prime Minister Donald Tusk during, among other events, the initialing of a cooperation agreement in the field of higher education and scientific research. Another important highlight of the visit to Asia was a meeting with representatives of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, during which topics such as the partnership between the Łukasiewicz Research Network and the Polish Academy of Sciences with its Vietnamese counterpart were discussed.
The final hours of my stay in Hanoi were spent mainly in discussions with the local academic community. Meetings at Phenikaa University, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), and the National Foundation for Technological Innovation (NATIF) centered on discussions about innovation, cooperation, the development of scientific partnerships between Poland and Vietnam, and opportunities for joint research and development projects. During these visits, the president of the Łukasiewicz Institute had the opportunity to explain how our institutes operate, their achievements, current projects, and methods for implementing technologies developed by teams within the Network. Dr. Hubert Cichocki also argued that it would be beneficial for Vietnamese companies to utilize the technologies developed by the Łukasiewicz Institutes, which effectively help build the Polish economy, strengthen national defense, and fulfill dual-use objectives.
