Paweł Pichniarczyk
Łukasiewicz – Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials
He has worked at the institute since 1995, advancing through successive scientific and managerial positions; since 2018 he has served as the institute’s director. His track record includes many successful R&D projects that culminated in industrial implementation. For his scientific work he has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Gold Cross of Merit from the President of the Republic of Poland.
He holds a DSc (habilitation) in technical sciences, is a university lecturer at the rank of professor at AGH University of Krakow, and is an MBA graduate. A member of scientific and technical organizations and the author of numerous scholarly publications, he has spent more than 20 years conducting research and development on innovative construction materials. He has extensive experience in R&D projects that have resulted in industrial deployment. In recent years he has been particularly engaged in applying energy-efficient and low-emission technologies in construction. A very important area of his activity involves environmental protection technologies based on renewable energy sources and hydrogen technologies.
His priorities include strengthening the Łukasiewicz Research Network on the international stage, securing a greater number of research projects, and commercializing their results in industry. He also strives to make Łukasiewicz – ICiMB a leader in interdisciplinary ceramics research, including bioceramics, as well as in glass, building and refractory materials, and environmental protection.
His passion is traveling with his family, which helps him “recharge his batteries” for professional work.
