Prof. Ireneusz Majsterek
Professor at the Medical University of Lodz
He is a professor of medical sciences and head of the Molecular Research Center for Civilization Diseases MOLecoLAB and the Department of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Medical University of Lodz.
His research interests focus on medical, clinical and basic sciences of human diseases as a result of aging and pathogenesis of civilization diseases, in all aspects of DNA mutations and epimutations, from individual evolutionary to translational applications in diagnostics and genetic therapy, as well as methods of targeted therapy for applications in medicine. He combines the field of nanotechnology, molecular biology and medicine.
He is a member of the EDSTAR Panel of Experts of the European Defense Agency, the Team for Technological Innovation of the Department of the Ministry of Health, the Council of Experts of the National Center for Research and Development, the National Science Centre, the Foundation for Polish Science, the Council of Experts Science for Society of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Council of Experts – Institut National du Cancer, France and many others.
He completed numerous foreign scientific internships, in France, Belgium, Great Britain and the USA and many others. His achievements include over 400 scientific publications and over 30 research projects, including grants from MNISW, NCBR, NCN, MEiN, NASA and NIH. In addition, he is an editor and reviewer of numerous journals from the Philadelphia list. Under his leadership, innovative methods of targeted therapy are being developed for future use in medicine.
