
Prof. Dr. habil. Lucyna Woźniak
Vice-rector for Science and International Cooperation, Medical University of Łódź, chairperson of the Board
Lucyna Wozniak is a professor of medical sciences and head of the Department of Medical Biology and the Department of Structural Biology at the Medical University of Łódź. Her research interests focus on molecular markers of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the prevention and diagnostics of type 2 diabetes in women using metabolomic tools.
She is a graduate of the Technical University of Łódź. She obtained her PhD and habilitation at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Centre for Molecular and Macromolecular Research in Łódź. After her PhD studies, she spent 2 years at Kings College London as a postdoctoral fellow in the team of prof. Colin Reese.
Since 2012, she has been a vice-rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Medical University of Łódź. She is a member of the Supervisory Board and the Strategic Innovation Council of EIT HEALTH, as well as chairperson of the Supervisory Board of EIT HEALTH Innostars, chairperson of the Scientific Advisory Board (Life Sciences) of the Vrije Universitet in Brussels (Belgium), and a member of the High-Level Council for Maximising the Impact of the European Union Framework Programmes (Pascal Lamy Group; Lab-Fab-App report).
