Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology
He obtained his habilitation in 1995 based on the monograph “Diamond-like carbon layers produced by plasma methods for microelectronics”.
He was the initiator, manager and coordinator of the commissioned research project “New technologies based on silicon carbide and their applications in high-frequency, high-power and high-temperature electronics”, implemented in 2007–2010 by 19 research centres all over Poland. He has completed over 60 research projects in cooperation with teams from many research centres from Poland (including ITE, ITME, PWr., PŁ, PG, UMCS, AGH) and abroad (including Imperial College London, JRC Ispra, Technical University in Liberec, Carnegie Mellon University). In the years 2006–2008, he was a representative of the rector of the Warsaw University of Technology for the Centre for Photovoltaics, as well as the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies “CEZAMAT”. The rector of the Warsaw University of Technology in the years 2012–2016 and 2016–2020.
A co-author and author of two monographs and ten chapters in books in Polish and English and over 580 scientific publications, over 100 of which appeared in prestigious journals.
