
Dr. eng. Paweł Stężycki
Director of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation
At Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation, he is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy, structural changes, cooperation with domestic and foreign entities and participation in national and international scientific and industrial organisations. A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, he holds a master engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Construction.
He worked in the EDC division on the development of combustion chambers for jet engines, where for 2 years he led a team working on the development of combustion chambers for engines designed for large passenger aircraft. He has experience as the head of the Environmental Services and Gasification group, which developed air purification and coal gasification technologies. From 2009 to 2010, as the head of the engineers’ group at GE Oil&Gas, he was responsible for works on the extraction and transmission of oil and gas from the seabed. In January 2011, he returned to aviation-related issues, taking over the management of the GE Aviation Systems group in Poland. At the end of his work at GE, he led a group of about 250 engineers working on various technologies in the field of aviation.
A member of many scientific councils including the programme board of the International Council of Aeronautical Sciences, and sits on the boards of national and international industry associations.
