Experience<\/a><\/h4>\n\n

Since December 2015, I have held the position of full professor at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Environmental and Life Sciences. From 2016 to 2020, I served as Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, and from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2024, I was the Rector of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Environmental and Life Sciences. <\/p>\n\n

I specialize in the precise processing of GNSS satellite data, which are used to monitor the Earth and the atmosphere within the Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS). I have had the opportunity to complete a number of research internships, including in Greece, Switzerland, and Italy. I am the author or co-author of over 90 scientific publications. My bibliometric indicators include an h-index of 16 and more than 990 citations in the Scopus database, as well as an h-index of 24 and over 2,000 citations in Google Scholar. Over the course of my academic career, I have led numerous research projects funded by KBN (the State Committee for Scientific Research), MNiSW (the Ministry of Science and Higher Education), NCN (the National Science Centre), NCBR (the National Centre for Research and Development), and Horizon 2020. I have taken part in international initiatives such as COST Actions and grants from the European Space Agency (ESA). In 2010, I had the honor of receiving the Honorary Badge \u201cFor Merit to Geodesy and Cartography\u201d for the implementation of the project \u201cASG-EUPOS multifunctional precise satellite positioning system.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

I am also an expert evaluating national research projects in National Science Centre (NCN) panels (I chaired panels twice), as well as international H2020 projects for the European Research Council (ERC, where I served as a member of panel PE10) and the European GNSS Agency (GSA). I have frequently reviewed projects for grant agencies in Austria (FWF) and Germany (DFG). <\/p>\n\n

The measure of a project\u2019s value is whether it has given rise to another project<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Education<\/a><\/h4>\n\n

I graduated from the Agricultural University in Wroc\u0142aw (now the Wroc\u0142aw University of Environmental and Life Sciences) in 1988. In 1996, I obtained a PhD in technical sciences at the AGH University of Krakow, where I also completed my habilitation in 2006. In 2014, I was awarded the title of professor by the President of the Republic of Poland. It\u2019s not what\u2019s before my name that matters, but what comes after it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Passion<\/a><\/h4>\n\n

Satellite geodesy is my great passion both in my professional and personal life (I ride thousands of kilometres a year by bike using GNSS navigation \ud83d\ude09). <\/p>\n\n

The good always comes to an end so it can get even better<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Priority for the term<\/a><\/h4>\n\n

For me, the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network is above all about integrating existing potential and multiplying it both materially and intellectually. I believe that the potential of academic Wroc\u0142aw including \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT and its business environment has not yet been fully tapped, which can and should be changed. That is why I am pleased to have been entrusted with this role. We have to adapt to the market, not make the market adapt to us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

O \u0141ukasiewiczu<\/a><\/h4>\n\n

Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, operating within the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network since 2019, has the potential to become a place of breakthrough discoveries whose results will benefit people through healthier, safer, and more accessible products and services.<\/p>\n\n
