Aim of the project<\/span><\/b><\/h4>

The project aims at a development of a mobile robotic platform (UGV) dedicated to the support of intervention actions such as a reaction to border intrusion.<\/span><\/p>

Short description of the problem addressed by this project<\/span><\/b><\/h4>

The current migration crisis indicates that it is necessary to tighten the external borders. The external land border of the European Union contained within the borders of the Republic of Poland amounts to 1,163 km. It is difficult to expect that such a vast area can be protected solely by the human resources of the Border Guard. New technologies designed for perimeter protection of large areas can provide the answer. Robotic mobile units can support stationary infrastructure, including unmanned UGV land platforms that are currently used in the defense and civil sectors. The main objective of the HUNTeR project is to provide a high-mobility unmanned hybrid platform for rapid response tasks in civil security and crisis management. The unmanned ground platform (UGV) is capable of performing both regular surveillance (e.g,. land border protection) and rapid intervention tasks (e.g., response to border intrusion or critical infrastructure incident).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Main results and achievements<\/span><\/b><\/h4>

An Unmanned Land Platform with a mass of 3.5 tons has been developed. The platform is equipped with a hybrid drive that enables long-lasting and covert operation. The maximum speed of the platform is 50 km\/h. Both steering axles and long-travel suspension ensure very good off-road properties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Conclusion<\/span><\/b><\/h4>

The developed platform successfully passed field tests. The platform can be configured for a wide range of applications. Currently, the platform is being adapted for military applications.<\/span><\/p>
