On the 1st of April, a new institute – the Polish Technology Development Centre (PORT) – was founded under the Łukasiewicz Research Network Act. PORT had been formerly EIT+, a municipal company owned by the city of Wrocław, acquired by the State Treasury two years ago. It then underwent a restructuring process overseen by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, to become a workplace of choice for scientists in the fields of biotechnology and material engineering. A network member institute since April 1st, PORT is headed by dr Andrzej Dybczyński, a manager and scientist with over 15 years’ experience in managerial roles, including at KGHM Cuprum and IBM.
